Once you have downloaded the file, extract the contents on your desktop in a new folder. You can use any pen drive, which has a minimum space of MB, if you are using the flash version. If you are using the non-flash version, we recommend at least a 1GB pen drive.
You will have to switch off and switch on the power adapter. The media player will boot up and automatically detect the new firmware and ask you if you want to install it. If you select to go ahead, the device will reboot once and install the new firmware. It should take around 2 — 5 minutes.
Those who have the original firmware version 1. You will need to cheat the media player, so that it thinks there is a new firmware available and only then will it install WDLXTV. In the pen drive, you will find a few files.
Now you can update the firmware of the WDTV without any issues as the media player will sense a new version for the firmware and install it. Installing Add-ons and plug-ins Once you are done installing the new firmware on the WDTV media player, you can start using it as usual. I keep a picture of the movie in its folder I name the picture "folder" Yet if I access my movies by going into "media servers" then not only do I lose the cover art for each movie but the device doesn't see about half of my movie files. I'm sure its a problem with how my computer or windows home server is setup. In other words don't blame the device for poor network infrastructure or your inability to properly configure it. Lastly when I copy a movie I always copy it to my hard drive and then process it rip into the file format of my choice.

It has the standard four directional buttons that surround a select button, but it also includes a number of dedicated buttons for functions including subtitles, audio, mute, search and eject.
