I agree that a complete change out to a mesh system would no doubt be the best option, but I'm trying to avoid the expense of that, and to avoid just junking all the equipment I have from environmental point of view! Yes, both my current Netgear devices are in wireless access mode and in a star layout as I have ethernet throughout the house.

I know the WGTv3 has to go because it is the bottle neck for the part of the house it covers, but the 5GHz network from the DGNDv2 gives me more bandwidth than I need and what I'm therefore hoping to find is something that will extend that network throughout the house.

Once again, your thoughts and advice were much appreciated. Thank you. Message 3 of 3. I was able to create another wifi network without encryption with different SSID and bridging with the main router having another SSID and its own encryption.

Think that that WGTv3 is just connected to the elettricity network and not wired to the main router. What I got is a laptop directly connected to the WGTv3 was able to surf over internet! So it means that the two routers are acting as wifi repeaters. What do you think about it? Did you use telnet to reconfigure the WGTv3 for that?

If so, what value did you use for set oper? I just used the standard console for the wgtv3, disabled the DHCP anassigned an IP address belonging to the same local network. Do you have any idea or tutorial explaining step by step how to set up both routers?

This seems to be a pretty universal procedure. I was not able to get my main wifi router to work with the wgt64v3.

My aim is to extend the wifi coverage and allow to wireless stations to join my wireless network either from my main router or fro wgtv3. So I thought that wgtv3 cannot be set up as wireless bridge, because it would only be visible for other wireless bridge and invisible for the stations. So the only way is or trying as repeater or client. In these cases have you any idea how to set up on? Thanks for the article. Just wanted to confirm with you that there might be typo in one of the configuration commands.
