Andy T. Val you have a link for that reader? Valerie is this the same one? Eaves: Nope. Valerie PS - I liked your peeking cat photo. I've got the Sony flash ordered. A longer cable is a must Johnny: The card reader I got had an extension cable included--maybe feet.

Leica M Nikon Nikkor Z mm F2. Nikon Z9 initial review. Sony a7 IV initial review. Discover more challenges ». Leica M11 3. David, I can't help with this one. I have ME and the S85 and have never had an issue! Good luck. I've stayed up quite late last perusing through relevant websites and trying various configurations with my laptop attempting to solve this mysterious problem, unfortunately I haven't had much luck.

I did notice that the USB driver for this camera is version 1. However, realizing that the typical owner of the S85 or S75 doesn't have a USB problem I would have to conclude that the USB connection on these cameras are, for the most part, the same and therefore the one driver works for all -despite the violent crashes my computer sees.

If this proves unworthy for my particular computer and setup which seem to work fine for all other devices then I'll have to disown the S85 for lack of pictures. David, this may be way off base, but perhaps you are missing an update to your ME software? Just a thought.

You know how buggy Microsoft OS can be on the earliest versions. Otherwise this doesn't make a lot of sense. Let me know how you solve this. The first thing I do is blame the computer. CAN'T be the camera's fault! David Straight wrote: That's a good idea - haven't considered that as of yet. What was the solution? Yes, they are quite slow. The first thing I did was test out the floppy adapter with my 16Meg memory stick. The memory stick had As a rule of thumb, a picture at the highest resolution takes about 45seconds to download into your computer.

So dumping the entire contents of an 8 Meg stick should take about 4 min, a 16 Meg stick should take 8min, a 64Meg stick 30mins and a Meg stick about an hour! I was lucky enough that this gentleman was kind enough to let me take my laptop into the store and try various options, one of which was a memory card reader made by a company called Dazzle.

It was after this last try that I decided upon the slow floppy system. Perhaps this will buy me time to work out the USB snarl that I seem to have. In any case, I can hold off with the investigative Columbo routine and just enjoy my new digital camera this was the original idea. And, for those that might experience a problem like mine I hope my solution works for you, because its a downer to spend so much money on a new toy and experience USB connectivity problems or crashes in my case.

Anyway, I wanted to post this message for those that may have had difficulty with USB connectivity and feel as hopeless about it as I did go back and read the threads and read about my experience with installing the Sony USB driver which, during installation, caused the 'blue screen of death' leaving no option but to press the power button to reboot.

The problem was with my computer as someone suggested. Don't you just love Windows? Have as many options available to you as possible to work around a particular computer system. I had a similar problem with my XP Dell - a computer I purchased for its media capabilities!! I spent countless hours on-line on various info sites Microsoft Windows XP, Dell, Sony - and some very frustrating hours with Dell so-called tech support.

We dig into the detail The Nikon Z mm F2. With a versatile focal length range and a fast aperture for low light photography and blurry backgrounds, this lens promises sharp imagery and smooth bokeh with minimal aberrations.

How does it actually perform? Find out in our full review. If you're looking to speed up your editing workflow, few pieces of hardware can make complex masking, brushing and cloning jobs easier than a digital pen. We look at Xencelabs' latest offering, the Pen Tablet Small.
