The library collects current scholarly information that supports the research, clinical, administrative, and educational needs of the Johns Hopkins Medicine, Nursing and Public Health. It covers health, the practice of medicine and related biomedical and allied health care disciplines, public health and related disciplines, nursing, research literature, methodological literature, reviews or state-of-the-art reports, and in-depth, authoritative analyses of areas influencing biomedicine and health care.

The Welch online collection includes approximately 20, journals and 1, databases. Do not send word by library staff members about renewals. Students may place a hold on materials that someone else is using; this will block further renewals and the student will be notified in campus mail when the requested book is returned to the library.

All materials must be returned before a student is allowed to take final examinations. Please report any lost or damaged items immediately.

You will be notified through the campus mail and through e-mail when you have an overdue book. Please attend to notices immediately, even if you have questions about the notice. Overdue fines are charged to encourage prompt return of materials. Ten cents a day is charged for overdue books and materials from the general circulating collection.
